The president and CEO of eBay, Devin Wenig, is joining the General Motors Board of Directors.
GM announced Wenig’s election to the board on Thursday. The addition of Wenig, who will stand for election at GM’s annual shareholders meeting on June 12, brings the board to 11 members.
CM Chairman and CEO Mary Barra touted Wenig’s experience.
“Devin brings significant expertise in technology, global operations and strategic planning to our board,” Barra said in a news release. “His experience in customer-facing roles and insights into digital marketplaces will enhance our current and future business priorities at a critical time in the company’s journey.”
Wenig, 51, has been at the helm of eBay since July 2015. Prior to joining the company in 2011, Wenig was at Thomson Reuters for 18 years, including four as CEO of Thomson Reuters Markets.
